Being in Greece was like perpetually daydreaming. I couldn’t tell the difference between real days and my dreams at night. To me Greece is one of the most beautiful European countries ever; from its 250+ islands to the ancient streets of Athens. It truly provided me with deep visual and soulful fulfillment.
During this trip, I had the opportunity to explore and sail the waters of the Cyclades, a group of islands located southeast of Athens. The colors of the Aegean Sea were spectacular and ranged from lapis to teal and glistened in the sunlight. Something about the sea makes me feel so peaceful and at ease; happy too. I guess that’s the reason why eighty percent of humans live near water. Like the famous poet, Pablo Neruda said, “I need the sea because it teaches me.”
What made Greece even more wonderful than I imagined, was the perfect small towns to accompany the perfect Sea. When I walked the towns, I was greeted with white stone streets, blue and white stucco homes, and brightly colored flowers. All the beauty surrounding me inspired me, creatively, as an artist. It compelled me to embrace the moment and capture it on film (and in my heart).
