During our family vacation in Hawaii in January we had the opportunity to photograph one of our fellow wedding professionals and her Navy husband who also happen to be from our same hometown. We had an amazing location picked out on the North Shore but on the day of the shoot the weather was horrible! It was cold, windy and raining sideways and there was no way we were going to be able to shoot in the spot we had planned on shooting so we chose to drive to the south side of the island to find better weather. We ended up choosing a small section of beach in the Waikiki neighborhood and even though it was the middle of the afternoon, we picked the best light we could find and went for it. We’re always a bit nervous to shoot in such harsh sun but every time we do it with film we are blown away! ” – Joe
