We spent six months in Colorado last year. Coming from Florida, I was inspired by the endless backdrop of white snow and wanted to shoot near the mountains. Maggie Mowbray, a Scottish milliner, sent inspirational headpieces made with feathers and florals. I found a vintage basket and filled it with different white flowers. The idea was to use the large basket on the table for a centerpiece but later I also had Satya carry the basket, as if she had found them herself. The day of the shoot, It was bitterly cold and windy. As we tromped through the snow, Satya grew pink on her nose, just the perfect touch of blush against the endless white. ” – Julie
