“The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.”
― W.B. Yeats

I love this quote because it eloquently communicates how deeply I have fallen in love with film. This recent session featuring the gorgeous Rachelle (who is a mommy to four and so elegant!), was my first go with medium format film. To say I have fallen in love with the tones, textures, and beautiful tangibility of film would be an understatement. There is something about shooting film that reconnects us with the artist within. Our work becomes more soulish, dreamy, and purposeful. We slow down and through the methodical approach, and our senses, as Yeats notes, grow sharper. A true excitement grows within me as I once again feel the pull of a world full of “magical things”.

For this session we focused on earthy, organic tones. The greens and blues compliment Rachelle’s ample brunette curls perfectly. ” – Jamie
