” When talking with Victoria about being their wedding photographer, the first and most important thing she wanted was someone to document their covenant love for one another. We wanted their photos to be soft and timeless and only film would achieve both of those things. I focused on finding really pretty light first, and on their emotion and undeniable connection which was easy – look at them!
From Victoria: “My fiancé and I are quite different from one another; however, our minds design is truly complimentary. I am an easily excitable dreamer and Taylor is a serious methodical doer. One thing we have in common is our appreciation for fine art. A week or so after Taylor proposed and all of the euphoria settled, I knew the next move was to plan our wedding. Most brides’ probably start by beginning the search for the perfect dress, or by choosing a venue, but not me. My first move was to seek out an idyllic photographer to capture the beautiful moments of Taylor and I’s big day.
In high school I had taken up the hobby of film photography, so I already was partial to the look of film. From my previous experience, I knew that film was much harder to shoot but the end result was worthwhile. Film photography requires much precision, but the real magic shines forth from the images themselves. I also knew I wanted film for my engagements because it’s ability to capture moments with a dreamy-like purity which only becomes amplified in a romantic setting. In my opinion, film’s purity is something digital could never create. I am so excited about our upcoming wedding and being able to look back at timeless images captured by Ashley!” ” – Ashley
