There’s something sacred about the season of waiting, especially when it’s bathed in the soft light of a quiet summer morning as in these images by Marie Elizabeth Photography.
Recently relocated from Puerto Rico, Natasha and Jose are embracing a brand-new chapter in the D.C. area as they prepare to welcome their first child, a baby boy. To mark this moment of sweet anticipation, they chose the timeless grandeur of the Washington National Cathedral as the setting for their maternity session.
It’s hard to imagine a more peaceful escape nestled within the heart of the city. With its sweeping stone archways, richly carved wooden doors, and winding garden paths, the cathedral offered the perfect backdrop; equal parts reverent and romantic.
From Marie Elizabeth Photography “The cathedral’s architecture, with its grand stone archways, wooden doors, and hidden garden paths, offered a peaceful escape from the buzz of the city – a serene setting to celebrate this exciting new chapter. Their connection was gentle and joyful, and it was such an honor to document this beautiful season of anticipation and love.”
Marie Elizabeth is a DC-based film photographer known for her timeless, nostalgic images of motherhood, families, and newborns.
