Rosanne van Cruyningen | De Westerheide, Laren, the Netherlands | rosiereports.com
” While I was in the Netherlands (my country of origin) for a short period in between a stay in the UK and my departure for Tuscany (where I live and work during most of the year), I asked my brother, Joel, if I could photograph him with a very good friend of his, Fleur. We chose a location nearby Fleur’s residence, a beautiful area of Dutch nature called ‘de heide’ (heath), on a beautiful Spring day just when the sun was about to set. The two aren’t romantically involved, yet I wanted to approach the shoot as I would a couple shoot. They’re holding hands and hugging and if you didn’t know any better, you’d think they’re a couple. However, I think the images demonstrate simply how fond they are of each other and how at ease they are in each other’s company. They’re both in their early twenties, she is a feisty, bubbly creative Dutch girl with natural blonde hair and beautiful blue eyes, and he is my gorgeous younger brother aspiring to be an actor/director. I love what I can only call their ‘synergy’. During the shoot I was also mesmerised by the beauty of the golden sunlight on Fleur’s blonde hair and how the two of them seemed to blend into the landscape. ” – Rosanne
