” I photographed Olivia and Evan on the shore of Lake Michigan in Empire, Michigan. When we Met, Olivia had told me the special significance of that shore line and how Evan had proposed to her there back in January. We spent a Saturday morning, right after the sun had risen over the dunes, going for a walk near the water and talking about them both while I photographed. I want to share what Olivia had told me, because I think it brings their story together as a whole not only in their photos but the way she tells it. They are such a sweet couple, and I cannot wait to document their wedding this October! ” – Paige

“On January 17th, 2015 a surprise knock came at the door. Evan had driven all the way from Indiana to Traverse City that morning “just because I missed you”. I had an inkling that something special was happening. He suggested that we drive out to Empire and go hiking at Otter Creek Beach, one of our favorite summer haunts. We drove for 45 minutes to our favorite spot on the shore of Lake Michigan, and as we parked and looked out over the ice caves off the banks of the beach my heart started to flutter. We took a left and walked down the frozen sand, all the way to where a small river snakes its way from the woods to the big lake. Evan was unusually quiet and fidgety. We came upon a sandy spot, sheltered from the wind, when Evan got down on one knee and asked me to spend forever with him. Of course I said yes. Ever since that day, Otter Creek has been one of our favorite beaches to visit when Evan comes home. It holds a special place in our hearts, and we knew it would be the perfect backdrop for our engagement shoot with Paige. We could not be happier with the way our photos turned out. They capture the pure joy and love that we feel when together, amplified by the natural beauty of the forest and shores of Lake Michigan.”
