Big Update

March 4, 2025

In 2013 Belle Lumière started as a passion project from a young photographer wanting to embrace herself in film … and share that with the world.  In 2014 that same photographer hosted her first workshop and launched the first edition of our famous magazine.  Since then, that same young photographer, has hosted over 15 sold out in person workshops, published over 50 magazine issues, built a 6 figure photography studio, and so much more.  But I am not that young photographer anymore.  And I have been fighting that for way too long.

Today I am a mother, a homesteader, a homeschool teacher, a rancher, and a house wife.  And there is nothing more that I need to fill my heart.  I am still an entrepreneur, and actually launching my 5th business this year.  But I am not a photographer anymore.  I haven’t been for a while. And I am not sure why I was fighting that fact, but now that I have accepted it.  I feel a weight lifted off my shoulder.

For the past few years I have watch Belle Lumière, a company I built from scratch, slowly drift away as my interests changed and as my heart took a different path.  But at the end of last year I decided, just because I wasn’t Belle Lumière anymore, doesn’t mean it has to end.

On that note I am beyond excited to introduce Lisa Christoffel to our community, if you don’t already know her. She will be taking over Belle Lumière and continuing it’s legacy.

I will be hanging around for a bit as Lisa takes over the ropes, and I might be staying on to help with the magazine (as design is another love of mine). But ultimately I will not be the face or name behind Belle Lumière much longer.

Continue reading below to learn a little bit about Lisa and see her vision and goals for Belle Lumière Moving forward.

A New Chapter for Belle Lumière

For years, Belle Lumière has been a source of inspiration—a place where beauty is not only captured but also cultivated. It has fostered a community of creatives who share a love for fine art photography, intentional design, and the timeless elegance that defines this magazine.

I am honoured to step into this new role and continue the legacy that Lexi has so beautifully built. Belle Lumière has always been a space for connection, education, and artistry, and I am beyond excited to carry that forward while introducing new opportunities for growth, collaboration, and innovation.

A little about me—I’m Lisa, a fine art photographer and creative who has long admired Belle Lumière’s dedication to visual storytelling and its aesthetic. With a passion for bringing beauty to life through imagery, I believe deeply in fostering a community where artists feel supported, inspired, and empowered to elevate their craft. Whether through capturing exquisite moments behind the lens or curating experiences that connect creatives, my heart has always been drawn to the art of storytelling.

As Belle Lumière enters this next chapter, my vision is to both preserve and evolve what makes this magazine so special. Here is what you can expect in the coming months:

A Continued Commitment to Fine Art Photography – Belle Lumière will remain a platform that showcases the best in fine art imagery, celebrating timeless aesthetics and intentional storytelling.

Workshops & Retreats – Opportunities to gather, learn, and create in breathtaking locations, with guidance from some of the industry’s most inspiring voices.

Exclusive Editorials & Features – A deepened focus on storytelling through curated editorial shoots, creative collaborations, and fresh artist spotlights.

A Stronger Creative Community – A space for connection, whether through networking events, mentorship opportunities, or behind-the-scenes content and masterclasses that invite you into the creative process.

Expanding Our Digital Presence – More ways to experience Belle Lumière through online courses, interactive content, and a refined platform that continues to elevate artistry and education.

I am incredibly grateful for the trust Lexi has placed in me and for this opportunity to nurture and grow Belle Lumière in a way that honours its roots while embracing new possibilities. I can hardly wait to share this journey with you, and I look forward to the beauty we will create together.

With gratitude and excitement,

Lisa Christoffel
