A Decade of Love

” Emily and Owen have been married for a decade this year. Normally I’m photographing new love; couples who have just decided to make a lifelong commitment and are so apparently struck by one another. With Owen and Emily, photographing their 10-year anniversary brought a whole new feeling and meaning to a shoot story-telling the love of two. Their love has been tried and found true, and the spark that lit up their eyes as I photographed a piece of their story had a depth that was lovely to capture.

Aesthetically, we planned for super soft tones in color to not distract from the soft hues of the ocean shore. We incorporated a hat for added interest in composition. Barefoot seemed like the most natural way for Owen and Emily to be, and I loved how this shoot was so completely simple, yet said so much. ” – Charity
