I just love the enchantment of this styled shoot! And I’d love to think that couples could be inspired by the aesthetic charm, sensuality, and peace that a desert honeymoon (or elopement!) delivers.

The red rocks of Moab, UT, provide a fantasy palette for rustic romance and relaxed beauty, and we were excited to explore a popular concept out west – *glamping* – as the backdrop for a styled honeymoon/elopement shoot.

Soft faux furs, canvas pillows, reflective glass tables, loads of color, and sea-glass candles amp the glam. Antiques like the old fashioned Polaroid camera and the Louis Vuitton train case furnish a timeless feel, as though the bride and groom had brought personal relics to their secret spot to help celebrate their nuptials. Photographing with film contributes to the heirloom texture and feel of the moment.

In addition to the sophistication of the atmosphere, we wanted to showcase the frivolity of an elopement or honeymoon – the adventure of starting a newly connected life, the thrill of sharing that beginning with your partner, and the passion that accompanies running away together – and the flowing gown, loose hair, and movement in the photos reflects some of that zeal. Equally important is having fun, and the images of the bride and groom taking their own Polaroids and creating their own mementos from the day reveal a playful, fanciful side of love. ” – Carla
